The event furnished a platform to reflect upon the intricate interplay between indigenous cultures, mainstream 'Western' knowledge paradigms, and the evolving nature of research methodologies.

Sensitivity to Indigenous Culture and Practices
At the core of the discourse was a heightened sensitivity towards indigenous cultures and practices. It was acknowledged that IEs exits and preserved in various Indigenous cultures, and predate European contact, forming holistic systems of knowledge that seamlessly blend with the rhythms of the natural world. European epistemologies, subsequently introduced to Northern America, catalyzed a collision of worldviews that led to the erosion, suppression, and displacement of IEs during the era of colonization.
